CJ Presiding Over a Joint High Level Stakeholders Meeting of the Key Players in The Justice System

The Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo presided over a Joint High Level Stakeholders Meeting of the key players in the Justice System.
The Justice Sector Development Partners' Group, the Austrian Development Cooperation Office in collaboration with the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) are the organizers of the Roundtable Meeting upon the request of the Chief Justice and the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister, Hon. Norbert Mao.
The meeting brings together heads of missions and justice institutions to discuss the critical role of a functioning and enabling justice system.
The Austrian Development Cooperation is represented by its Head of Office, Dr Katja Kerschbaumer.
These actors believe that the justice sector plays a vital role in fostering the value of rule of law and acts as an enabling sector for the sustainable development of all other sectors. As such, they say a functioning justice system is crucial for reassuring both local and international investors about the protection of their investments and the fair resolution of commercial disputes.
The outcome of the meeting which took place in Kampala (Mestil Hotel) is therefore are iterated commitment from the Government of Uganda and Development Partners to a strong partnership and their shared goal of a strengthened Justice Sector.
